Pop Wuj - Spanish School Guatemala
The school can enroll a maximum of 45 students at a time. The months of January, February, April, June, July and the beginning of August generally book early. Please e-mail or call before you send in your application, since the summer sessions fill up fast.

Enrollment
You can begin your studies at Pop Wuj - Spanish School Guatemala on any Monday (or at any weekday upon request) and stay for as many weeks as you like. However a stay of at least three weeks is recommended in order to take full advantage of our program.
Please note the minimum time commitment for the Medical Spanish, Social Work and Spanish for Teachers program. We recommend you plan your start date for the Medical Spanish, Social Work or Spanish for Teachers program for the 1st or 3rd Monday in each month. With this you will receive your cultural competency lecture directly in your first week.
Call or e-mail to confirm space, especially during the busiest season (Jan, Feb, Apr, Jun, Jul, Aug). If your requested dates are unavailable, we will notify you promptly and recommend alternative dates.
Registration Applications
The registration applications should be completed at least three weeks before your desired start date. However we can be flexible and, if authorized, you can register as close as three to four days before your start date. This will provide sufficient time to arrange a teacher and housing for you.
Your application should be accompanied by a non-refundable registration fee of $65 USD for the Spanish Immersion Course. Registration in the Medical Spanish, Social Work and the Spanish for Teachers program is $150 USD.
Please note that the registration fee is not applied toward the tuition. Parts of the registration fee will be directly invested by Pop Wuj into our community development projects. The payment of the registration fee will be send via PayPal to our US-based NGO partner Foundation Todos Juntos. The registration fee and payments for t-shirts and textbooks are not tax deductible. However any other donations made to Foundation Todos Juntos via PayPal are tax deductible in the U.S.
After filling out the registration form, you will find the link to the registration payment via PayPal on the confirmation page. Payments can be made in most currencies via credit cards, debit cards and bank transfers. To make other arrangements, contact the Registration Coordinator, Jorge Archila, at info@pop-wuj.org. You can also wire your payment to a Western Union office in Quetzaltenango.
To enroll/register please fill in the appropriate application form:
Excursion Program Deposit
A non-refundable deposit of 100,- USD per participant in the form of a money order or personal check made out to “Centro de Estudios Pop Wuj” is required with the application to reserve your place in the Excursion Spanish Immersion Program. The balance of the payment can be made upon arrival at the school and is acceptable in the following forms: Money orders made out to “Centro de Estudios de Español Pop Wuj”, Traveler´s checks, cash, or Credit Card (an additional 12% international bank surcharge will be added to the credit card payment).
To enroll/register please fill in the following application form:
Tuition Payments in Guatemala
Your tuition should be paid directly to the school upon arrival in Guatemala. You may pay with a cashier's check drawn on a U.S. bank and made payable to “Asociación Centro de Estudios Pop Wuj”. You may use cash, travelers checks or MasterCard or Visa. If you use a credit card, an additional 12% international bank surcharge will be added to the credit card payment. The reason that we ask that you not prepay your full registration fee is because of the cost and delays involved in transferring money from outside Guatemala. Note: American Express credit cards are currently hard to use in Guatemala.
Cancellation
For cancellation please contact registration coordinator, Jorge Archila, at info@pop-wuj.org as soon as possible if you find you must change your schedule, so that we are able to open the space to another student and offer a refund. The registration fee is non-refundable.
Confirmation
After processing your application, we'll be sending you a formal confirmation letter via e-mail, along with a lot more information about the school, how to get there, and what you should bring with you when you come. To avoid any mistakes, please confirm your dates and program again after you have receive the confirmation letter. If you have additional questions, email or call the registration coordinator.
